Sixth European Business Intelligence & Big Data Summer School (eBISS 2016)

 

Venue and Accomodation

 

The Summer School will take place in the campus Grandmont of UFRT in TOURS (France). The complete address is Faculté de Sciences et Techniques - Avenue Monge. 37200 Tours.

The Grandmont Campus is located in the south of Tours. It has good communications with the inner city and the train station.

The Summer school will take place in building F. Seminars will take place in amphithéatre F21. Some meetings will take place either in room F20 or F23. Wifi is accessible in all those rooms.

 

Accomodation will be in the residence Grandmont (http://www.crous-orleans-tours.fr/logements/carte-des-logements/tours/grandmont/) which is next to the campus (same indications to arrive there as for the campus; see below). Included in your registration, if all inclusive, you will have a room in this residence for the whole duration of the summer school.

 

Getting there

From the Airport of Tours

Bus & Tramway company Fil Bleu has one line connecting the airport to the city centre: (https://www.filbleu.fr/images/infosvoyageurs/ficheslignes/reseau_hiver_nov_2015/Tram_A.pdf).

Once in the inner city of Tours, you will be able to connect with Grandmont Campus by bus.

                  Tram A stop VAUCANSON – direction Lycée Jean Monet (one each 8 minutes)

You have to make a connection with a bus at the stop Jean JAURES. Here, you can take the bus Tempo 2 direction CHU Trousseau (one each 10 minutes):

                  To find the summer school, stop at “Fac Grandmont”.

                  To find the residence, stop at “Bonamy

This journey is approximatively 30 minutes long.

Taxi can also be an option. You will usually find taxis waiting outside the airport. You will approximatively pay 30€ to connect with the city centre.

 

From Paris

Depending on the airport you will be arriving in, you have several possibilities to join Tours.

From Aeroport Paris- Charles de Gaulle

                  From the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport, you can take a TGV (https://uk.voyages-sncf.com/en/#/) that will bring you directly in Tours. The TGV station is located between 2C, 2D, 2E et 2F halls. A free bus (CDGVAL) can take you from 1 & 3 halls to the station.

From Aeroport Paris - Orly

If you plane lands in the Orly airport, you will have to connect with a train station in Paris. Take the Car Air France 1 (one each 20 minutes) to the train station “Gare Montparnasse”. The journey from the airport to the train station lasts approximatively 45 minutes and will cost 12,50€.

From the Montparnasse train station, you will be able to take a TGV (https://uk.voyages-sncf.com/en/#/) that will bring you in Tours.

 

From the Tours train station


                  It is easiy to join the Grandmont Campus from the train station of Tours. Once arrived at the train station, walk to the bus stop “Vinci Gare”.

 

 

There take the line Tempo 2 toward CHU Trousseau (one each 10 minutes).

                  To find the residence, stop at “Bonamy”.

This journey last approximatively 15 minutes long.

                  Coming by car

From the highway

From Paris, take the exit 22 (Vierzon/Tours-Sud/Saint-Avertin). Turn right, Route de Saint-Avertin. Cross the roundabout, 2nd exit, toward Chateauroux. After the first traffic light, take the left line, turn left at the next traffic light to enter the Grandmont Parc, rue d’Arsonval.

 

From Bordeaux, take the exit 23. Turn right on rue E.Baudot, then left on avenue du Grand Sud (Route de Bordeaux/N10). At the top of hill, turn right on rue d'Arsonval. You are arrived in the parc of Grandmont Campus.
